I have Java installed (latest), but d20Pro.exe will still not start, telling me to install Java.

When I use the *.bat files to start it, it works fine. What's wrong here?

If you installed on a Window 7 machine, in the default location (Program Files), and your UAC (User Account Control)http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/what-is-user-account-control is set to anything but OFF, then you will have this problem.

    Solutions to try:

    1)Install to a unique folder under c:\

    2) Turn off the UAC (It will cause issues with other Java program installations, like Dundjinni, anyway)

Also check to see what Java you have installed Meaning:

    1) If you installed Java x 64 bit, then D20PRO will not run when you click the default .exe (also the default checked on the installation finish window). Install the Java x 32 bit (586) and it will run the regular .exe.

2)Otherwise, use the .exe that is listed as 64 bit.

If you are running a 64 bit OS, you should have both versions (586 and 64 bit) installed anyway so this does not happen with other programs.

I hope this info can solve your issue.

This is what I use, I don't use the normal .exe file. I always use the .bat file so I can allocate 3GB RAM.

I tried using the bat file, kind of ignorant about stuff like this but a google search told me to double click on the bat file. I'm running win7 64 and tried every bat file in the directory, nothing worked. Keep getting the following error message:

"Windows cannot find javaw. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again".

This is a java issue that can be typically solved by uninstalling Java, then manually installing the 64-bit version of Java
