I have this problem where every time I import a new image the active mode turns to the last one I used in the "Draw Tools". This is kind of jarring as when building new maps and adding monsters to find I'm now dragging tiles around.

F-7 enters you in or out of Manage Tiles Mode.

I could not replicate what you are experiencing.

Please provide more details, full procedure you are using with pictures would be best.

I can confirm this happens, it somehow puts me in tile drawing mode.

    Replicate:
    1. Open drawing tool, close drawing tool
    2. Create map from image
    3. Import save and open map
    4. Client is placed in drawing mode for some reason

I've followed the procedure outlined, and still unable to reproduce.

Question: when you open and then close Draw Tools, does it stay in Manage Tiles mode? As I've tried in both linux and windows 7 environment and I'm unable to reproduce. As when I press close or minimize on Draw Tools, it exits Manage Tiles mode, then I open library and create map, from image, save and open, and it's in normal mode. I've even tried Draw Tools import image and seems to work as intended.

Let's see if I can give you exactly what I had done.

    1. In any given map. Open the Draw Tools and Import an new tile.
    2. Search Google for an image, copy it and use the Clipboard option in the Image Import window.
    3. Place this new tile somewhere on the map.
    4. Rename and resize the tile.
    5. Close the draw tools.
    6. Open the Library and add a creature to the map and edit it.
    7. Click on the portrait and go to import.
    8. Search google for an image and copy it.
    9. Chose Clipboard from the image import option.
    10. Hit Ok until all the windows are closed.

At this point you should see that you're in manage tiles mode despite the fact that the Draw Tools window is not open.

    I hope that helps.

I just followed those steps and can confirm that it definitely ends up in manage tiles mode without the draw tools window being open. Bizarre.

Ah! I followed your steps lefty2shoes, and now I see it! Thanks.
Looks like it changes to Manage Tiles mode when you Import CTR Image from either File or Clipboard and "OK"to use image.

Looks like this happens whenever the following is performed:
    1) Open either "Edit Library Creature" or "Edit Game Creature".
    2) Click on the image for the creature (to change image).
    3) Click on "Import Image" button.
    4) Inside the "Import CTR Image" window select (image from) "File" or (image from) "Clipboard" then press "OK" to save and use new image.
    - - this enters us in "Manage Tiles" Mode.
