Does anyone know of any good sources for animated images for tokens? Top down views of things like campfires, torches, water, etc...

I use google image search and add "gif" to the otherwise artfully constructed search terms.

Although, this is usually followed by a fairly substantial amount of sadness... as the animated art out there right now is woefully lacking.

[hint hint to anybody with time on there hands to make some good top-down animated gifs]

hahhaa, yeah, poor Google. I love my overlord, but sometimes it can be quite the letdown. ;)

Hint hint hint.... with a little cream and a cherry on top [IMG][IMG]

Do .GIF animations work as Monsters and objects in D20Pro? Some won't work.

Currently this only works for markers. Nice job on those!!
When we update our creatures to also use marker like behaviors they'll gain the advantage (roll 2d20!) and be able to use gifs as well.

    marker-gifs.gif

Of course this begs the question -- can we trigger/stop gif animation sequences. I'm not sure but we'll definitely find out!

I just tweaked the timings and in some case looped the timings with the old .GIF animations....... it was a bitch getting them out of the game itself but it was well worth it.

    .......and thanks. :)

Ok i figured out how to add markers with .gif animations........ Is there a quick fix on your end that could allow .GIF animations to be added easily and for us as users to add them to an easily accessible library of .GIF animations?

Thank you for sharing cyderak!!! Those are some great animations. (Still looking for a good campfire and wall torch ;) )

I've asked in the past before to have markers be categorized instead of just all bunched into a single dropdown. Unfortunately, I can't find the post I made for that (doesn't come up when searching or associated with my profile  There is some discussion in this thread regarding markers: Tiles - Moveable by player

Ultimately what I would like to see would be a library of markers just like we have a library of tiles. AND that the marker library only loaded as needed, not the entire library at once. I tried moving a few thousand tile images into the marker directory and it crashed d20pro, because I didn't have enough memory to load them all on startup.

Owlbear, since I can't find the original post I made requesting this, should I repost it in the requests area? Or do you just want to take it form this post?

I made an animated door dart trap. I drew the dart, the rest of the art was found.

Like I said, I would really like to see a separate library tab for .GIF animations.

    For:
    -- Spell GIF animations
    -- Creature GIF animations
    -- Object GIF animations

Markers are just too much of a pain in the ass to do.

If GM's could make pre-made GIF's that could be readily available in a drag and drop library, that would be epic!!

How labor intensive is something like that?

Would it help if I said pretty please?

    :)

15ft cone of fire. If I coulda got the fire filter to work, it might have looked slightly more impressive.

Yeah but I don't need to make any.......I just need a VTT that offers an easily accessible way to throw them out as spell effects.......I don't need a stat block for any of them or anything else to make it as complicated as it is.
