    I know with the new system, I was really confused on how this stuff worked. Props out to Tay-Dor and Owlbear for helping clarify somethings :)

    I will give some text based examples and upload steps with pics when I get home.

    Cleric Channel Positive Energy-
    Open the D20pro GM client
    Click on the D20 icon in the upper right corner
    Click on 'Rules Library'
    Click on the second icon from the left labeled "spell library"
    Click Create
    This will open a popup with four tabs.
    • The Description tab allows you to setup something that people will see - I generally cut and paste from source material into this tab.
    • The Flow tab is used to setup the rules/mechanics on how it works.
    • The short summary is used for a one line description
    • The notes is used for private update/checks
    Click on Flow

    Typically with any spell it has four sections:
    • Feature
    • Effect
    • Modify Target
    • Value

    Feature container
    Name field - "Channel Positive Energy"
    Cost = 1
    Level = 1
    Type = Spell

    Effect container
    Trigger - On caster (can be changed by clicking on the drop down box)
    Roll each time = checked
    Positive = checked (important or it will damage the token)
    Apply Immediately = Checked

    Modify Target container
    Mod Group = HP
    Mod Target = HP
    Mod Type = Radiant

    Value Container
    In the field, type this: dice(func(casterTotalLevels()/2)d6)+1

    Back in the feature container, there are black circles on the right hand side, click the 2nd from the top
    This will produce a "Map Template Container"
    Map Template Container
    Type - Burst
    Size = 30'
    Size = 5'
    Visible = Checked
    Duration = Not checked

    Click on the only black round circle on the right site
    Color Container
    The only thing in this container is a small color, click the drop down arrow.
    Pick a color that you want the template to be when you cast the spell - I used yellow

    Click Save at the bottom
    Click Enable and make sure there is a check box on the left hand side of the name

    You are back to the Rules Library again

    Click on the third button from the left labeled Template Library
    Click on the Per Day template and click Copy
    A new template will be created called "Per Day / Per Day 2"
    Double click on that one.
    A new pop-up will happen and you are editing the properties of that template

    Name - "Channel Positive Energy"
    Type - "Per Day"
    Template - "Channeling"
    Cast as - "Cleric"
    Level - "1"
    Check the "Use Class Level if Higher"
    Usage = "X" / "X" (This number represents how many times per day the character can use it)

    You will now see the "Channel Positive Energy" spell
    Click on that and click the single right arrow to associate it with the template.
    Click okay

    Important thing to note - this template ONLY applies to the token because of the uses per day. When the cleric increases his wisdom score or a feat increases it, you need to change the numbers here.

    If you apply this template to another token, it WILL use the shared per day uses with the other token!

    Now you need to assign it to the Cleric token:

    Click on the D20 icon in the upper right
    Click on Content Library
    There are four buttons on the top of the new pop-up
    Click the second from the left labeled "Creature Library"
    Open up one of the tokens by double clicking it
    This will open up the character token and select the traits tab
    Click Add in this new tab
    This will open another pop-up, click "Add New"
    Another pop-up will occur with the tab labeled "Trait"

    Trait Container
    Name = Channel Positive Energy
    Source = Cleric
    Level = 1
    Categorize in Tab = Cleric (you have to backspace and type it in manually, copying and pasting is not the greatest)
    Module/Product = "Player's Core Book"

    Click the + button on the right of the Trait tab
    Click the add button from the "Channel Positive Energy"
    Click okay

    You will see it created the new trait and there should be a green icon on the left of it.
    Click Apply

    Now that you have applied it, you can now click on the token, press B
    A new pop-up will occur and double-click the "Channel Positive Energy" in the "Per Day"
    Click on the target field where it says "no target"
    Click on the location where you want to apply the template.
    Click on the X on whatever token you want to don't want to heal using the "Selective Channel" feat
    Click Okay
    Click Okay, it should have the tokens with automatically generated healing

    Congratulations, you have now channeled and healed people

    Hmmm... anyone else think that this is way more complicated than the old Abilities thing? I mean, yeah, it had to be updated manually and applied manually but... How many of our casual users would even know how to do this? :-/

    These are exportable, right? I mean, we could create a bunch and export a library and put that in the marketplace? That would be sweet...

    Agreed, this takes a different mindset to incorporate, but once you have the library setup, you don't have to mess with it again. (unless you don't take good backups of your current setups.

    - The plan is to incorporate an API that plugs into Paizo's databases to import all of the information.
    - With the recent 5th edition licensing, they have been selling the books to import everything into D20pro.
    - There hasn't been any word on what's going to be the model with Paizo because they have a better digital distribution setup compared to WotC.

    Here is the template and Spell for Channel Positive energy. Please remember to take off the +1 in the spell because I had it setup for another player with a trait.

    Need a spell that enhances your movement speed for a short duration, see above ^

    I had to create a Psionic Skate spell that increases the ground speed of the character for 5 minutes.

    Remember the value field for movement equals 5 foot squares, so this speed increases it by 15 feet by using a value of 3.
    - When I put the original value of 15, it increased the speed of the character token by 75'

    Alright, I'm going to tackle Sorcerers for everyone: (Castien, Elven Sorcerer)

    Click on the d20 icon
    Click on the templates button (3rd from the right)
    Click on 'Per Day' and click copy.
    Double click on 'Per Day 2' and open it up.

    Per Day2 container
    Name - Castien, Level 1
    Type - Per Day
    Template - Sorcerer 1
    Cast as - Sorcerer, Int
    Level - 1
    Consume item on use - checked
    Counts as ammo type - none
    Usage - "4" / "4"

    Click okay

    Open the character token, create add in the trait tab.
    Click "add new"
    Name - Castien-1
    Source - Sorcerer
    Level - 1
    Categorize in tab - Sorcerer
    Module/product - Sorcerer

    Click on the + symbol on the right side
    Click Add for "Castien, Level 1 4/4 : Per Day"

    If you have the spells built out for Castien's first level, you would click on the spell and click on the single right arrow.
    This adds the spells into his first level "per day" pool
    Click okay
    Click apply
    Click on the token and press the B button
    upload_2017-8-30_21-28-25.png

    You can now use his spells and it will subtract for the day (I know those aren't Sorcerer spells, but I was using my Psionic one as an example)
    Any spell you use (that's already built) will subtract from the daily use of his first level pool.

    Ammo is another topic that comes up in Discord chat

    Prerequisites -

    Ammo has to exist in the character token item tab. (bullet, bow, Crossbow, or etc)
    Weapon needs to exist in the character token attack tab
    Player has to change the ammo in the attack declaration to the ammo in their inventory then submit the attack

    Open the character token and go to the item tab.
    Double click on the red box on the right side of the item (see the green highlighted area)
    upload_2017-8-30_21-37-45.png

    This will open another pop up
    Change the use style to "bullet" or "bow"
    Change the quantity to the number in the inventory (He already shot 12 bullets in the last game)
    upload_2017-8-30_21-39-49.png
    Click on the + button the right side of the item (Mine already has it setup)
    Click add "Ammunition Ammunition"
    This will open it up again to another tab
    upload_2017-8-30_21-41-14.png
    This is the exact pattern you want to match in order for this to work
    Once you have matched this, click ok (no other fields in the source or selected need to be added)
    Now, go to the attack tab on the character token
    Change the style from 1-hand to "bullet" or "bow"
    upload_2017-8-30_21-43-0.png
    Once that is done, click Apply at the bottom.

    Now, when the player declares an attack, they must click on the drop down box next to the attack and select the ammo.
    upload_2017-8-30_21-44-58.png

    Without doing this, it will not subtract from the items tab.
    Click okay, it will now subtract from the total quantity from the item tab.

    Okay, now you're say that you're a Cleric/Wizard/Witch/etc that doesn't need a pool of spells per day.
    You only get with whatever spell that you memorized for that day.
    All you have to do is add the spell into your Spell Library, it will auto populate the spell into your token automatically.

    upload_2017-8-30_23-12-30.png
    See above ^^, I didn't have to add that into the effect, it did it already for me.

    If you are playing a class that doesn't need a spell pool, power points, or spells per day - all you have to do is populate your spell library.

    Oh, cure light wounds seems to be a popular entry on Discord as well

    dice(1dwhatever)+casterTotalLevels(max level to cast to)
    (func(casterTotalLevels())d8+func(casterTotalLevels()))

    Its just a little more complicated, but once you start getting into it, its not so bad.

    Keep in mind, this only has to be done once on the GM's client in his/her library. When the player casts a spell, D20PRO will match the spell you selected with what's in the GM's library. Player just sits back and enjoys the game.

    Dang. I need to get good at this. My players keep fussing that their spells don't work. I'm trying to create a custom item that would exist in the library and I could have my character pickup when he loads his character. It is a Spellstaff. Functions like a bow but does 1d8 points of damage from a staff (ranged attack). 10 charges. Can be recharged at 6 min per charge (hour of time). Time isn't a concern for me as they will do it during rest. But recharging would be nice.

    I followed the steps through creating a template, and feature, but have no idea how to add it to the item. Any ideas?

    Unfortunately the system is a hot mess and cumbersome to use. If I were you, I would just double click the character and in the abilities tab set up a ability with 10/10 charges called "spellstaff". Then set up an attack separately. Each time the player makes an attack with the staff, you just burn a charge manually. Either that or set it up like ammunition. Create an item called spell staff, set it to ammunition (not at the computer right now so not sure what type) and make the attack use that ammunition type.

    I've found issues with doing that because it won't apply or execute correctly because of the old system trying to input information into the new tables. I agree that it's a work in progress, but it's getting ironed out still.

    So I'm working on a flow builder (because the zoom function on the flow is refusing to work...) which will give you a bit of the old along with the power of the new.

    This is clearly *not* in 3.7.2 but will be in an update "soon" after -- yeah, that's programmer soon.

    Thanks alot for the help with the ammunition vanith. I'm getting a Starfinder campaign together and this has been a huge help.

    On a related note, some weapons in Starfinder use multiple units of ammunition per shot, such as more powerful energy weapons or automatic weapons. Do you know if there is a way to have a weapon automatically use up multiple units in one attack?

    Should be able to achieve that in the same way that spells can take multiple units from a pool.

    After using the flow for a few weeks now, any progress on making zoom available in flow? I can't imagine how much added headache not being able to zoom in must be on you...

    I've been trying to get this to work, but I'm stuck on this part:

    Double clicking on the template does absolutely nothing. There's a padlock icon on all of the templates, so I guess they're locked or something? How do unlock them?
