d20ProCon July 9 & 10, 2011

Has the summertime blues hit yet? Are you a little bored? Do you need a gamer double shot of ultimate geekness?

Team d20Pro is proud to announce it has joined forces with the great guys over at Infrno.net again. With their help, we are going to put on “d20ProCon” July 9th and 10th, 2011. The registration will be open starting Wednesday June 29th, 2011. A large email promotion will be sent out Thursday June 30th, 2011. Get signed up before the email goes out and secure your seats.

This is a completely FREE gaming convention entirely online run through http://www.Infrno.net using d20Pro. Currently we are looking for any quality d20Pro GMs to offer their stuff. If you are interested in this, please contact me immediately via private message. We will need your name, description of event, amount of players, and slot number(s). Please include any information you think necessary and any questions/ concerns you may have.

We are looking for a basic convention format; however, table size is significantly more flexible. Normal convention tables are 6 seats. Feel free to range from about 3 – 10 seats (where 5-8 being more common).

This is a new adventure for us and this industry. Online conventions are a way of the future and will definitely be coming a part of current “live” cons. If you are ready for the future and want to be a part of the ground floor, let’s get it on. If you are interested in helping in some capacity, but prefer not to GM, please advise me as well. We will welcome any help we can get.

The slot breakdown is as follows (all times are EST):

Slot 1 Saturday 10a – 3p Projected tables: 4
Slot 2 Saturday 3p – 8p Projected tables: 4
Slot 3 Saturday 8p – 1a Projected tables: 3

Slot 4 Sunday 10a – 3p Projected tables: 3
Slot 5 Sunday 3p – 8p Projected tables: 2
Slot 6 Sunday 8p – 1a Projected tables: 2

Each slot will have a range of 2-5 games depending response from both GMs and players. We realize we are not offering a ton of slots or a ton of games yet, but we believe we need to remain humble. We are hoping to have a contingency plan of back-up GMs with additional games prepared if demand significantly outweighs supply. That is where all of you come in. In order to participate in d20ProCon you will need to have an active Infrno account. You will also need d20Pro downloaded onto the machine you are going to use to connect to your game(s).

Registering a game for d20ProCon
To register a game for d20ProCon, find the slot you wish to register your game in, and click ‘Register a new game for this slot’:

When creating your game:
● Check ‘Play in d20Pro’
● Correct your IP address and port, if necessary
● Provide a password, if necessary
● Games default to 3 player seats, adjust as desired
● Games default to 2 alternate seats, adjust as desired
Save your game. You should now see it listed in the ‘Pending game registrations’ section. You will receive an email when the registration has been approved, usually within 24 hours.

Be sure to provide a game profile photo. It’s a small, important detail, because pictures do more to capture user attention than anything else. On your game profile page, look for ‘Choose profile photo’.

There is a bug here, however. Uploading a new picture takes you to your personal photo album. To use your newly uploaded photo as your game photo, go back to the game profile, and select ‘Choose profile photo’ again, your new photo will be available for selection.

Starting the game
When you are ready to receive player connections, click ‘Allow d20Pro connections’ next to the d20Pro logo, under your game profile photo.

Players will then see a ‘Launch d20Pro’ link, in that same section.

When the game is over, click ‘Disable d20Pro connections’.

Alternates
When your game has begun, open your game’s registration desk via ‘Registration desk’ in the Navigation section, under the game profile picture.

If a player has not shown, kick that player via ‘Kick player’. This will cancel the no-show’s registration, notify the first alternate via email that a seat is available, and notify them via email to join the game.

If all players have shown up, click ‘Release alternates’. This will notify your alternates via email that the game is full.

d20ProCon is heating up and so are the games available. Your continued support is crucial to the success and future of d20Pro. Please check out www.Infrno.net/events/6 for available games and if you would like to register to GM a game. We are especially trying to get a game in Slot 5. We have experienced a slight delay, but we are looking to take the registration semi-public sometime over the weekend. We will announce it here and allow our loyal fans to sign up first. Tuesday or Wednesday there is going to be a newsletter sent out announcing that registration is open.
