I've broken classes.txt and spells.txt

I've been trying to update my classes and spells lists with... everything, really. I've decided to start small by just adding all the spells from the Spell Compendium. I've got the base classes done, and I thought I was good - but when I checked on one of my characters (a cleric) she had no spells.

Two questions:

1. Anyone see where I've gone wrong?

2. If the lists of spells in classes.txt determine what spells a character can take, what does spells.txt do?

You might notice that everything after clerics is gone in classes.txt - there is more, but for some reason 127K characters is considered excessive in a forum post.

Well, that wasn't it, I removed all the '/'s and it is still no good!

 

Let me see if I understand this right:

I've got the spell names uncapitalized in "spells.txt" and so when it compares "classes.txt" to "spells.txt" there are no matches? Well, I can fix that right up.

But what functionality does "spells.txt" provide? If the spells are listed in "classes.txt," what does "spells.txt" do anyway?

Cat's Grace isn't showing up in the list of spells for my sorcerers. I can find it in Freeform, but it shows up as Cat,Äôs Grace.

I'd suspected something like that. I did, in fact, use Word to alphabetize everything. I'd then used Mac Textedit, so I'd forgotten about Word and its foibles. A quick find-and-replace and I'm back in business! Thanks for your help!
