Last night I went to start my copy of D20pro Judge. For some reason, when I launch the Judge side of D20pro, I get a second Blue dice loading and then an error message pops up that says unable to transport, is DMpro already running? So i go checktask managr to see what the deal is and it's not running...I tried to uninstall java and reinstall earlier versions...I tried 6.10 and 6.11 and then tried 6.12. Now, before you ask...the play side works fine. I can log into a friends game just fine.

    Thanks

    Bryan

    A few questions

which version of d20Pro are you using?
Are you on a windows machine?
Are you running d20Pro from the .exe or the .bat?

If you can answers those questions it can help me attempt to replicate the issue.

    Good morning,

    I use 1.14.6 Registered copy
I run it on my laptop which has Vista
    I use the executable.

I Have tried to uninstall a few programs that I think may have caused the issue to no avail. I am at a loss really...it worked one night...the next I keep getting that error message.

    Thanks for the help

    Bryan

In the pic it looks like the program is trying to run itself twice. there is a second d20pro running in the task bar. but I only clicked on it once.

    Hail and well met blibertore,

That error message displays when d20Pro running in Judge mode attempts to start up the server by listening on the specified port (default 10101). Typically this will happen when d20Pro is already running in Judge mode.

So since you are it could also be happening in Vista (or another security program on your computer) is preventing d20Pro from taking its port. This keeps malware from starting up a connection to your machine. d20Pro though legitimately needs that port so please first try disabling your Vista firewall (or 3rd party program like ZoneAlarm) and try running as a Judge. If that works then we know it's the security software and you can turn your protections back on and then look for a setting that will give a specific port (such as 10101) or a specific program (d20Pro) the ability.

I run on Vista so can help further as necessary. We'll also improve the error message to additionally warn against this condition in the next release and put support on the help site.

    Wow...

Now I feel so stupid...lol, such a simple solution and I never thought of it. I installed McAfee virus protection and for some reason d20 pro was not showing in my list of allowed programs. I added the program and gave it full access and now it works fine.

    DOH!!

    Thanks for the assistance
