    I should have a 5e data set (skill.txt, class.txt etc etc) along with tokens for the monsters included in the free basic rules ready in a few days.. I'll post it up here once it is done..

    I am also starting up a 5e game pretty soon.. it will run at least 1 thru 10th level as a "test drive" of the new system..

    Note, we've (our group) decided not to assign spells (availible/known/perday) to classes given that the method currently used in 5e is more directed to Available Slots.. so We have spels known listed in the "Description" tab, and memorized/known in the freeform spells (even tho we don't use it either (just a placeholder for daily memorized spells), instead we are using "Effects/Abilities" daily Charges IE;

    Spell Slot 1 (2 / 2)

    In this way, players can easily cast a spell in a higher slot and not have to do more work than they would for any other spell... and they burn slots (charges) for the day..

    Also, BAB should be Manually entered (overridden) on the character token substituting Level Proficiency Bonus.. since this does not follow the standard progressions of 3.5 BAB... in the data below, progression is set to 0.

    gonna hold off on tokens for monsters, until the MM comes out.. I know in a perfect world there wouldn't be an errata between the Basic Rules and the MM.. but I'd rather not have to do things twice.. so, since MM is out very soon will wait and do a pass over it...

    Hi Krilion,
    I've just created and added the various files for 5E. I've imported some creatures previously created on D20Pro under D&D4E and the creatures' speed has changed. Whereas before it was 30, now it's 150. I can manually correct but any ideas why please?

    No, not really.. perhaps Curtis or Matt might have some glimpse into why that might happen.. but as far as I know, there shouldn't be any connection between the two..

    At Gen Con (and forgive me as I also started a new thread then saw this might be more appropriate) I was told they were getting an official license for 5e.

    Is this still happening? I upgrade Fantasy Grounds because d20Pro didn't support 5E out of the box, but I'd prefer to do everything in D20Pro. I have NO IDEA how to load custom data, and would rather avoid it as I don't want to risk what I already have for other games...

    Is there a 'package'/installer for this? But more importantly, is d20PRo getting 5e or am I stuck with FG or fiddling with my data files?

    I'm afraid ATM there is no official word on 5E. This method presented here is a 'homebrew' means I came up with and will work but it requires some adjustments. If you'd like help getting it going, catch me on Teamspeak (or skype)..

    Hello All,

    I'm on the project and wanted to quickly chime in on this. Currently we are engaged in determine what relationship we can have with D20PRO Classic and 5e. There are two parts to the quandary:

    Part 1. D20PRO Classic 5e support would represent a significant development commitment which would certainly detract from pushing forward on Mage Hand and the RPG Add-On which is part of that plan (D20PRO Ultimate). That being said, we're still doing a total evaluation of what is the minimum support needed to make this happen for current customers.

    Part 2. Wizards has a lot of hoops to jump through. We can navigate this realm without a doubt, but doing it twice is part of the considerations in Part 1.

    At the moment, the official answer is we do not yet have 5e support. This is still in the cards (dice?) and is being pursued. As soon as we've got a solid plan in place for 5e we'll post a notice to the forums!

    Specific features for 5e are a top priority - many, many Gamers out there have voiced their enthusiasm and we hear you. Although we could release a "5e friendly" patch d20Pro Classic rather quickly, that is still a lot of valuable time that would be diverted away from the future of D20PRO on our successor VTT engine, Mage Hand.

    For any significant investment, I'm leaning towards Mage Hand for full 5e support and cards/dice willing an official license from Wizards. That doesn't mean the upcoming d20Pro Classic v3.5 release won't have any optimizations for fifth, especially if we can add them in a way that doesn't disrupt the existing paradigm.

    Your feedback on what best augments your gaming experience is extremely important to us. Please weigh in on how you'd balance the prioritization of quick returns in Classic versus longer but much grander results with Mage Hand. :ugeek:
