d20pro is designed to be an expedient tool to help you speed up gameplay and manage online game sessions, but it is NOT a replacement for the GM or player judgement. It does not enforce rules like movement, attacks per round, attacks of opportunity, reach, or spell use. There are several reasons behind this decision:

1. This is not a video game. d20pro is a campaign tool, and not designed to be a game engine. Play D&D Online or World of Warcraft if you want a video game.
2. The rules are very complex. The D&D rules have many variations and exceptions. Indeed, it is an exceptions-based game (particularly in 4E), and new expansions are released every few months that give more options to players. Enforcing rules will simply limit our users to the Core Rulebooks only.
3. D&D is about house rules. If you have a house rule that allows an extra action in times of need, then you can simply let a player keep going.
4. This is a tool used by thinking humans who are friends. You make judgment calls, redo actions, and so on. If you skipped a player by mistake, you can let him take 2 turns at once, or maybe you want a creature to be instantly slain by a special weapon - no problem. D20pro won't get in the way.

To that end, please remember to use d20pro's features ONLY when they would speed up play or make things easier. For example, you may find that using spell effects for direct damage spells is slower than simply burning through the spell, then applying the damage directly to the unit via the D key. On the other hand, making a special ability for Rage is easy and saves a lot of headaches, since raging has so many different numerical effects on combat, and it has a duration to track.

I've only started using d20Pro recently (my first online session is scheduled for tomorrow!) but I've been saying the same basic thing: d20Pro doesn't ENFORCE the rules, it SUPPORTS them. I can't begin to express how awesome this tool is! I've been having a great time digging through old supplements and finding maps and icons, and I was giggling like a mad necromancer in the graveyard of the gods when I did a Google image search on the term "dungeon maps" the other day. I can see myself using this tool for a long time to come. Thanks so much for your efforts!
