I admit that the feature I am least satisfied with in this program is the dice roller. Maybe it is just my lack of use of the program so far but I would love to actually see a dice dish where you can "grab" dice from and virtually roll them. Since I don't currently plan to use this program across the internet with the chat window, "typing" my dice rolls won't be used.

Just a thought. I'd love to hear whether you are considering any adjustments to the dice roller or not.

    Hail and well met Kindel,

Thanks for the feedback. The raw dice rolling capabilities of d20Pro definitely need to be improved, especially when using it as a GM game aide (which it sounds like you are doing).

The good news is a full revamp of the game dice has already begun. This feature will ship with d20Pro v1.15 currently slated for an early June release. So help is on the way soon!

The developers have a pretty good idea of what we need to shoot for, though we are striving to make the functionality as all encompassing as possible. If you have any specific feature requests for the dice roller please post them here or PM me with your ideas.

    Well since you ask!!

Just kidding. Yes, there is a specific design I liked when reviewing the various game aids but I wouldn't expect you to copy anyone else.

Something that looks and acts like actual dice is nice. It must be quick and automatically use attack bonus and saving throw info for the various characters on the screen.

    Otherwise, have fun.

How about a toggle some where that says something like "Show Dice".

When it is checked everytime a die ie rolled you get the visual dice rolling across the screen they stay visible for X seconds then fade away.

Kindel, the best way to do attacks and saves is to actually put them into your character sheet. Then press F, R, or W keys to make saves, or right-click on the character and choose it from the menu. Attacks are VERY well done in the attack tab on the character sheet.

We find that in actual play, most people just use dice for a couple of things, like manually rolling initiative or making a miss chance roll or spell damage.

I'm sorry if this is obvious, but I just wanted to be sure you were aware of d20pro's current features concerning die-rolls.

Actually I am happier with the product than I was at first.

I am still experimenting with the features but you appear to have done a good job, even with the dice rolling. Although I know my group will never allow it for their characters. Which is okay.

Please don't think anything is too obvious. If I'm missing something I want to know. Thank you for your quick responses.

As for Dice Rollers, check out the roller with the Fantasy Grounds virtual desktop.

I've seen it. Done a competitive analysis actually, and I think in terms of "shiny" they have us beat. I'm ok with letting them win in that area, because we focus more on function. I rolled those dice and they are sweet, but after a while it gets tedious to do all of your rolls that way, especially when you have 4 attacks per round, then get hasted with flaming burst scimitars and rage/bless/prayer up...

Anyways, we are working on a custom dice function, where you can click on dice images to roll them, set multiples and modifiers, and even type in dice formulas & save them.

Example: 2d8+3 Cure Mod Potion or 1d8+15 Cure Light, Mass.

Those will be saved as custom dice in your dice bag. What's better, you enter those simply by typing your formula out: "10d6+10"
Quick, simple, and effective. No animation just as yet, but that's not entirely our focus.
