    Hi Developer types,

First I want to let you know that d20Pro is probably in the top 5 roxxor things of all time, but still below cheesecake for which there is little remedy, but I have a serious question for you.

Is it possible to upload a map from a location other than the DM's computer in the event that the DM has a crappy upload speed from his ISP or some other limiting factor? I don't know how d20Pro runs its map loading, but I was thinking that if it simply a matter of telling the program what local path you want to upload the map from then it could easily be told to load the map from an image hosting site.

Anyway, thanks for the great gaming tool. Deuces!

    Hail and well met Desmond,

The kind praise and clever taunts are greatly appreciated. We who code d20Pro aspire to cheesecake level delectability!

As for your suggestion that an image file be served from a different host, such as a web server, that is a powerful idea. Because aside from downloading hi-res map files, d20Pro consumes scarce bandwidth and CPU time. This makes it playable, even over dial-up - with the obvious exception of large files. This will take some work to do properly (with most of the consideration going into the UI). The result will be somehow providing a URL to an image as an option. In practice, this will result in a local copy in all cases; and PCs would be redirected from the GM to fetch a particular file from a specified URL.

You're the first person to request this capability and I doubt you'll be the last. While I can't explicitly promise this feature at this time, 90% probable it will be available in d20Pro v1.15 due out this summer ahead of GenCon. Thanks for the great feedback, always welcome.

If you or anyone has additional request for this feature, please reply below and describe your advice or requirements.

wow, I can't believe that I'm the first to 'second' this great idea... due to the dearth of other votes though, please count mine twice as I hope to buy at least two licenses from you. :p
