The d20Pro Team has taken special interest in Paizo's new RPG and living campaign Pathfinder: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG.

Other Pathfinder fans who are interested in playing Pathfinder Scenario's online should post your interest here!

As an avid subscriber to Dungeon and Dragon magazines for a long time, I'd like to also commend paizon for moving forward with their continuation and adoption of the 3.5 setting. They're an excellent company who writes some of the best supplemental OGL material for DnD that I've ever come across.

I agree. I'm just starting a Pathfinder campaign using Rise of the Runelords, and converting it to 4th Edition. The story and character development is simply phenomenal. I will, of course, be using d20pro to manage all the fun time, so if anyone wants my conversion materials and .d20 maps, lemme know.

I got to participate in a demo Pathfinder Society game using d20Pro at Gencon 2008. Fantastic! Loved the ease of use and simplicity of design and yet it was effortless to add or subtract anything NOT included. For example, I played a bard and any bonuses I gave to the group were not initially included... no problem. Loved it and hope the Pathfinder RPG is fully supported.

You can create an effect to give all the PCs the adjustments due to your inspire courage.

What I have done in my home campaing in on our bard I added an ability call inspire courage which he can use X times per day. Then he just clicks on that, then on the PCs that get effected and the modifiers will be there for you.

Me and my gaming group have subscribed to Dungeon and Dragon forever, and have been religiously playing the Pathfinder campaigns as soon as the books get to our door.

We've finished the first two full story-arcs already, and we'd be further into the third if the shipment hadn't been siezed at customs for random inspection.... go america.

all the Paizo Published material is phenomenal, and from the look of it its only getting better. Whoever has the D20pro conversions, I'd actually like to take a look at those and show it to my group.

Ya'll might consider even writing a letter to Paizo and seeing if you couldn't get one another to endorse each others product, so you can start having some of their specific artwork in your advertisements, and such things. Just an Idea.

I created a new thread for my Rise of the Runelords conversion to 4th Edition. I posted it in the 4th Edition section. Check it out!

I know it is fairly easy to modify skills/feats/classes/spells etc. However, other rules are a little harder to convert. Is v2.0 going to allow for easier and deeper customization or either will it have support for Pathfinder rules/new OGL? As far as I can see... monster stats are going to change, spells, etc. Such a high amount of material that it could take me a loooot of time to create via "Manually..." text-files.

    Thanks for the info!

If Paizo will allow us to use their creature data, we could import those to the software. We can already do that with WOTCs character builder files in 2.0.

Many of the rules are enforced by the player and GM. New abilities, spells, or feats are easily entered into the software, and unless key changes are made to the actual 3.5 engine (no longer use d20's for skills or something), then it's pretty easily handled by d20pro.

Could you give us a specific rule or change that you are concerned with?

First I have to say this looks like a great tool, and if it works for pathfinder, I will buy it as soon as I get a response.

I have considered a web cam, webex (or similar), and skype to play with some friends online, and this software looks VERY promising, but I can't find many details. I've been running the Pathfinder beta system in tabletop games for more than a year now, and our group just finished 12 of the Pathfinder Society modules. I would like to try some of those with your software, and I have another group that would like to try this software for Pathfinder play because we are spread all over the U.S. We have tried to do this in the past, and I find some software tries to do too much for you and requires too much preparation. I really dislike the idea of creating what is basically a text adventure prior to a game session, which is what is required by some of the other tabletop software available. Given that and the preference of my group for any system other than D&D 3.0 (d20 system) or 4e, I have a few questions:

What would I need and what would it cost for 4 players and a DM to play using the internet?

What level of effort would be required to prepare a few city encounters, overland travel, and then exploration of a small monastery with maybe 2 levels and about 4 encounters and one large encounter, including map building? 1 hour, 3 hours, 12 hours, etc.? If I would have to spend the time to customize the software for each character and monster and encounter, I would skip that and would simply tell everyone to roll their own dice rather than editing text files and would use the software for mapping purposes (i.e., a virtual game table only). Bottom line, I want us to focus on the roleplay, so we need to spend time on the roles and not be so fascinated by the rolls, whether they are being made manually or electronically... I know that's really the intent of this software, but the effect seems like it is actually bringing the number crunching and stats to the forefront with the interface rather than pulling them into the game. I could be completely wrong here, and I would like to try it. The reason I keep asking about Pathfinder is that crunching is minimized, and instead you focus on your surroundings, actions, reactions, etc.

Would d20 software facilitate each player and a DM resolving rolls and combat as a virtual game table if I wanted to resolve combat independently of the software, or is it hardwired to resolve effects and rolls in addition to movement? I don't want it to get in the way.

I would also like to make my own maps and import them, but I don't see any information on the web page describing what level of effort would be required, etc. to place furniture and other features (not simply paint colors).

Can the DM interject something, fudge a roll, bump a monster's HP, etc. on the fly or does that have to be pre-determined. I noticed in the online help description that some stats can not be edited, so I am wondering how flexible the system is as it's being used.

Can the DM make limitations as to what can be edited by players or deduct their HP, etc., or does that have to be automated through combat?

I read about the network capabilities, so how does this work across the internet? That's how I want to use the software, so of course I'm curious...

Is it true that each player would have to pay $10 to get the player interface in addition to the amount the DM pays for the software?

Pathfinder has combined many skills, streamlined 3.5, and gave a "burst" area heal to clerics, turning works differently, among other things... Will there be a conversion for the pathfinder system, or would I have to customize the existing d20 system?

Is a youtube demo available? I would like to see the different steps mentioned in the user's guide.

I hate to mention it, but what about grappling, overrun, disarms, trip attacks, or exhaustion, heat effects, nausea, etc.?

Last but not least, is there any chance you would consider some sort of joint marketing and development with Pathfinder, because the Pathfinder Society organized play could easily develop online play and could become HUGE for you and Paizo. Just repeating Bobsq2's idea there, because it's a good one...

Mirliton, it sounds like you would benefit from a direct, 1 on 1 Q&A session. I would be happy to meet with you over Skype and d20pro and go over the software's potential. I honestly believe that we are a perfect fit for your needs based on the questions above. We are at GenCon (booth 1810) until Monday, but I can meet with you after 10 PM any night (including tonight) during the Con. I look forward to hearing from you! dan@mindgene.com

Thanks Dan. The more I read, the more I think this sounds like a great fit, too. Also, thanks for replying in the middle of GenCon. I was surprised to see that!

Earlier in some posts you asked about specific differences between Pathfinder and 3.5. There is a new conversion guide out with the release: http://paizo.com/store/downloads/pathfi ... 48btpy89m6

That specifically addressing converting from 3.5 to Pathfinder, so should be very helpful.

The group I mentioned is at GenCon right now and are constantly messaging me about this, so I think they are definitely up for d20Pro sessions and are going to stop by the booth.

    Thanks again!

Board Admin, is it possible for you to create a section for Pathfinder? Right now there is 3rd edition, 4th edition, and other :) I would like to see this post moved under a new Section called Pathfinder as the new release has confirmed that it really is a new game (albeit strongly based on 3.5 edition). The subtle differences, though (just like Star Wars Saga Edition) really mean it is its own game.

    Just my 2 cents!!!

I love d20Pro! I'm going to personally bust on Josh Frost (head of the Pathfinder Society Org play) to try to work out a way for the society to include Virtual Gaming.

I was just checking the forums to see if there were new patches for the amended Skill sets, or perhaps there's a simple way for me to alter (Pathfinderize) the existing ones.
