I was unfortunately burned on another smaller virtual tabletop for my gaming needs, so in the search for another I have a few questions to see if d20 pro is right for me.

    1) I'm only looking for a virtual tabletop for use as part of my regular gaming group. What I am looking for is for a laptop to be able to run two instances of d20pro, one as GM and one as player, with the player portion outputted to an HDTV in the gaming area. What I need is something where I can make my map/fog of war changes as the GM, and what the players see is on the HDTV. Is this doable, and if so can it be done with only one license or do I have to purchase multiple licenses to do this?

    2) Can tokens/graphical minis be used and moved without all of the 3.5 attacks, stats, etc? I'm only looking for a graphical area to create maps, show the maps, and move minis around. Everything else will be rolled in person with normal paper character sheets, etc, so we're really only looking for a more streamlined, prettier, and less cluttered way of doing a live battlemat. We are playing 4e and I'd like to also run my savage worlds campaign if I can find the right non-fantasy tiles.

You can most definitely do that with d20pro!

The first paragraph is actually a very popular setup for home games. 2 clients - one license - one DM and one Player, projected or output to a monitor/TV.

You can put in as little or as much as you like into the system, though I would highly encourage you to put in the HP into the program. The health bar is quite good for combats.

Download a fully functional 14-day license and try it out. If you want a personal tutorial, let me know and I will host quick demo online for you. See the screenshot below for an example of the hp displays.
