So I just installed this program under the trial version on my macbook, and I got the program to come up. Supposedly. But I can't get any walls to draw, creatures to load, anything. I don't get it at all and am getting very frustrated trying to figure it out. I am using my trackpad at the moment. Can that really make it not work?

    Hail and well met,

Yes, there have been some issues observed when running on a Mac, particularly right after running d20Pro. In particular, if the license folder is empty a blank error dialog would pop up.

After realizing this needed work, I recently bought a MacBook to run d20Pro and make sure it's fully working. So big improvements for running on a Mac are coming soon - in the meantime please try the workarounds below:

    • > Make sure there is a valid license file in the licenses folder.
    • > In v1.13, the startup screens may not draw correctly and appear blank. Try moving the mouse around the bottom of the dialog and click on the green check mark button. If you click through the main d20Pro window should appear which renders correctly.

Note: please check back tomorrow because d20Pro v1.14 will be available for download on 1/21/2009 and contains Mac specific fixes.

It does look a little goofy, but I can see the DM and player buttons. No, once the program opens is when I have the trouble. I can't do even simple things like draw walls, etc. However, I will try the new version tomorrow and see how it goes!

Woot! I got it running anyway. However, I can't draw any walls or anything. I keep getting this error "Unexpected exception establishing console." What does that mean?

    Ducky2010,
    Glad you got it running!

Hmm, the "unexpected exception" when trying to draw walls is not good. I just tested this with d20Pro 1.14.6 on my MacBook and it worked. I'll send you a PM with a few followup questions if you don't mind helping me figure out why it's not working on your system.

We'll get to the bottom of this issue right away with a workaround and/or patch.

I'm having the same problem, except that I'm running a PC with Windows XP. I'm on a trial licence, and when select the draw button the error message "Unexpected exception establishing console" appears. The draw sidebar appears on the right hand side of the window, but there are no tools in it. I'm unable to use the tool at all.

I've reinstalled the program to no effect.

So this issue rears its head on Windoze as well, hmm...

The trial license is not involved. So there must be something else going on...

If anyone else sees the "Unexpected exception establishing console" message please post here or PM me here on the forums. I will delve into the problem and get a fix in place right away.

Ok good news, I figured out what was going screwy here. The Draw tool (for walls and doors) had a small bug where it would trip up if a map is not currently open. I will get this fixed and in a patch soon.

For the meantime, please open a map before going to Draw mode. I'll also post in the help wiki to warn people about this situation until there is a patch.

A big thanks to both Ducky2010 and Tenebrous Sage for providing information about this problem.
