    Me again,

As mentioned in another thread, I am currently planning on using D20Pro as virtual table top for everything my group plays. Obviously, there are limits to what we can do with it regarding using the software to roll attacks and resolve all combat actions but we'll just going to do that at the table. Mostly what I like about it is that I can use it as a visual aid without having to scrawl a crumby map on a battle mat or print out some huge Kinko's project to cover the table. I haven't had a chance to actually try anything with it yet but when I do I'll report back to let you all know how it goes. Right now, my plan is to use it in a Shadowrun game I'm running. Since that's a game with lots of tactical considerations a virtual table top like this really works well. The only snag is the on-the-fly conversion, such as changing the 5ft. square to something else. Is there a way to change how the program "counts" those squares (without having to go spelunking into the source code)? It's not a total brain bender to convert 5 feet to 1.5 m (honestly I'll probably just round up to 2 m) but if there was a way to change that value, that'd be cool. Even if it just counted squares kind of like 4th edition but followed the rules for moving diagonally and counted accurately, that might be something to think about.

Update: It turns out it's easier not to change the software and just convert the Shadowrun movement rates from meters to feet. That way the program still counts it correctly and me and my players aren't forced to do metric conversion in our heads. (Phew!)

Good news Kroy: As of the next build (1.14) we have support for Feet, Meters, and Natural (Squares)! 1.14 should be out any day now.
