    I would like to setup a 'D20pro' headless server (linux or windows) and be able to attach to it as DM or Player and that would dictate the tools/options available to me.

    Headless D20PRO is planned... but the issues with it are the ability to arbitrarily assign the GM role to a connected "player".

    This is in the cards and part of what we're building into the updates, but it's far from ready yet.
