    Hello,
So the tutorials and trial and error worked great. Can't wait to test it with my group in the next month or so, but am having an issue with round edges.

So I'm trying to use the edge tool to outline some round columns and statues and suck in Rappan Athuk- but when the normal are outward (see image one) I get a solid black circle that blocks light perfectly, but obscures the inside, or (image 2) it shows the inside of the circle, but has odd lines of light and darkness shooting off in odd patterns, almost as if the circle/edge line has holes in it.

Thanks, not sure if it's a bug or I'm doing something wrong with the edges. Thanks,
    Jeff...

Thanks guys and look forward to it and glad I wasn't doing anything wrong! Hopefully I'll have more square columns until the fix!

I'm having a similar problem but mine is different.

No matter which way I have it set the inside is blacked out for doors and edge objects. I'm currently working on redoing my maps that I will be using. I'm picking things up rather quickly and using a test subject to test my work. Only for some reason it doesn't matter if I have the "U" set to outside or inside all the doors and the edge polygons the inside is always blacked out. I figure I'm doing something wrong but I can't figure it out.

    Any ideas?

By the way I have 3.6.3.

Could you show us a screenshot of one of your doors, I think I know, but don't wanna state the obvious if it isn't the case :)

This one as you can see is with the marks going in on the GM edit view.

This is what the player sees from the one above.

Whatever I'm doing wrong is resulting in the same thing.

And I"m doing the same thing wrong with squares. This is the GM view with the marks in on a square.

So once again I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but it is something.

Given the bug/difficulty with transparent things as jeffpalmer1976 points out (first post) which effects doors as well, your question on Squares and Doors above is acting as intended 'at this time'... once that bug/difficulty is addressed and corrected and/or a better way to do that is found, using 'U' as you are describing will work in the way you expect as you are describing above..

I think I confused myself, on this one... did that make sense?

please also see this related thread were Owlbear comments directly...

Sorry I was going off of the Shadow Casting video on inverting the norms. And so just figured that I was screwing it up somewhere.

Thanks and I'll try some of the suggestions with using an X on the statue and just adjust the edges of the doos.

You did in fact have the right idea, you were correct.. Just the rules got changed between Betas on you.. :)
and, once that gets ironed out, it will work that way again.. sorry for the confusion.
