After having been seated next to the d20pro demo for most of Dragon*Con, I finally got around to giving it a try on my laptop. I didn't get very far, other than to note two things:

    1) It ran pretty slowly. I'm not a java programmer, but could these values perhaps be bumped up a bit?

    -Xmx384m -Xss512k -XX:MaxPermSize=128m

    2) After it started, the initial window tries to grow to fit the screen, maximized but not full screen. Then it continues to grow horizontally to the right, as if it were trying to stretch across multiple desktops. If I move it and send it to a desktop to the right or left, it resets back to occupying that one screen, and then continues trying to grow to the right. Further, I was unable to drag any of the windows (player/judge screen, for example) around.

I realize putting dev hours into fixing linux problems probably doesn't rank highly on your "to do" list, but thought you might appreciate the feedback anyway. I certainly appreciate your making an attempt at releasing a cross-platform product. It makes me want to reach for my wallet. I'll continue playing with this when I have some more spare time, and if I come up with any fixes I'll post them here.

    Thanks,

    David Cherryholmes

Can you let us know which version of Linux you are using, and which version of Java is installed on your box?

As for changing the data in the string, feel free to change it to whatever your system can handle.
