We play with all our IC interaction in text. If I, as GM, happen to be typing when someone ends their turn during init, the software automatically selects the next creature in initiative and applies all subsequent keystrokes to that creature as commands. I'm a decent typist, so I usually get 8-12 characters (and unintentional, random commands, including init changes with each press of the space bar) before the *ding*ing stops me.

Have you tried using the 'Say' field on a token?

Also, you can stop players from advancing the turn with the new pause button

Another alternative is to use the 'T' talk command.
