yea, I'm just hoping it can work out in the end, I wont spend a fiew weeks learning a program if it cant do what I'd like in the end :p

the main points is the lack of info though, on older program its easy to find alot of ressources to help, while I struggled 2 days to manage to put down 1 tiles ... I hope things will go easier from here on.

I know they are working on getting documentation out that will be helpful and informative. There are also many helpful people here on the forums that can answer questions you have. The Dev's are very helpful and I've learned a lot from Krillion.

The tile placement took at little getting used to. I've recently found its easier to make my maps in a graphics programs (such as photoshop or GIMP (free)) and then import it into D20Pro. Then all that's left is applying the fog of war.

As far as your original idea of having a projected player map, you can run D20Pro in multiple instances on your computer. First run it as the GM. Then start the program up again as a player and connect to your GM instance as if you were another player. You can have your computer project the player instance so the players see what they can see, while you still have your GM instance and all of its control.
