I seem to be having issues getting people to connect with my game. I select the host option start a game, get my ip info and give it to the other players. they say that they are getting a host timed out window. i have the port open on my firewall and they still have issues logging into my game. any help would be appreciated. i have a 30 day trial. is the trial the issue i am having? i plan on buying it i just wanna see how it works first. thanks for your time.

You may have tried everything, already; but just in case, there is an excellent post, elswhere in these forums, that might assist you with your problem.

You can find it here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=120

It sounds like a port issue. I know that you said it's open, but I would double-check and also check multiple firewalls, like Windows (system), Norton (software) and your actual router (hardware).

Fresh install of v2.3 full download on new computer. when I go to run nothing happens. Clicking on the shortcut or opening the mindgene folder with windows explorer to find the application directly won't start the program. I'm running windows xp. I have the latest Flash Player installed. I can see the spinning hourglass icon for half a second, then nothing. It's as if I didn't click on it. Nothing opens at all. I was using d20 pro on my last computer and didn't run into this. I've also tried uninstalling, redownloading and reinstalling

Funny, just had that same problem with not having Java...now that that's straightened out...when I try and open d20pro it's telling me I don't have a valid liscense. I'm trying to do the free thirty day trial, and was under the impression the word file I found in the d20pro folder that said license was what I needed to move to the license folder...apparantly not?

To activate your 30-day free trial, simply open d20Pro, use the register button, follow along until you see "Start Trial." Then download the 30-day free trial.

You can view the youtube video tutorial on this at http://help.mindgene.com/tutorials/starting-d20pro or at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGtCJfpxwqI

Note: Using the 30-day trial requires internet access to validate the trial license. When you upgrade and download any purchased license d20Pro will start instantly.

The License.rtf you found in the /d20Pro/ directory is the End User License Agreement.
Inside the /d20Pro/licenses/ directory contains your licenses that you can view on the opening screen of d20Pro. These licenses are time and date stamped (both visible and encrypted) when the license was downloaded and has an encrypted key license.

That wasn't the issue, but I found out how to fix it (basically downloaded the wrong version of the program). Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get it to run Pathfinder instead of 3.5...

My computer died, so I'm trying to install d20 Pro on laptop operating windows 7. Java Virtual machine launcher says it can't start Java virtual machine. Uninstalled Java, and reinstalled latest version. Their online test says Java is working. But still no Java virtual Machine and thus no d20 pro. Any suggestions?

Inside d20Pro's folder there's a file called d20Pro.bat Try starting d20Pro using the BAT file.

If that doesn't work, try installing Java SE Runtime Environment from oracle's website: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-6u31-download-1501637.html

The actual issue is with Windows 7 and installing in the default Program Files folder. The Access Control for Win7 is set to high to allow the java file in the D20pro folder to be accessed, thus failing too open the virtual machine or the listed file in the error. I moved Gnaeus's folder to be in the general C: drive folder and it worked just fine.

Just do not install to the default and place in c: folder for Win 7 installlation.

Hi! Just acquired a Full License with 8 Guest slots and am eager to get started. However, my players are telling me that when they install the application, it is not starting with the Guest license. Is there a method to manually load the guest license on the client?

    Thanks!

    Hi folks,
I recently changed my OS from Win 7 to LinuxMint. Unfortunately I am just a complete newbie to Linux operating systems and I was wondering if there is a how to install d20pro on Linux systems step by step guide available somewhere on these pages.
Thanks for your help and I pologize for my english, I hope my post is understandable anyway.
    Greeting from Germany

You can get the latest version of Java from your Software Manager, just search for OpenJDK and install that.

After that, d20Pro for Linux you just unzip the downloaded file to where ever you want the program at, and then double click the d20Pro file in the folder. There is no "installation" per se on Linux, you just have to keep everything in the same folder together.

There should be a d20Pro.sh file. That's the one you want to click. If nothing happens, right click it, go to properties, and I can't remember what tab it is, but make sure the checkbox for permission to execute (or open as an executable, or something like that, depending on the distro you're using), is checked. Then double click d20Pro.sh again, it should work.
